A Pretty Powder

After:

Transformed colored kitchen

Our client wanted to upgrade both the room's appearance and its function, including replacing the existing tub shower combination with a full shower. Heavily patterned window glass allows light without exposure and adds a subtle visual interest as well.

While the majority of the shower tile remained a light cream color, ensuring an airy feeling, deeper tones of slate anchor the floor, while warm green and gold are inviting in a painted vanity cabinet, sparkling glass mosaic tile and a limestone countertop.

Bath Detail

Custom touch: The cabinetry was designed with an inset toilet paper holder for a tidy appearance in minimal space.  A framed vanity mirror allows for side-sconces rather than a bath bar, providing better task lighting in an elegant presentation.

Maughan Design provided color consultation, material selections, construction documents, specification binders, and cabinetry (product and installation) for this project.

Before: This main floor bathroom serves as both powder room and hall bath for over night guests. The simple all white décor was ripe for a personality infusion, but before the conversion could be done, a privacy solution needed to be found for the front-yard-facing window.
