Vanilla-white fireplace tiles were replaced with golden-rusty slate, color enhanced for richness. Tiles were hand selected and set to achieve a pleasing balance of color & pattern across the face of the surround. The formerly bright brass firebox accent was stripped of its finish, giving it a natural patina. A new wooden mantel unifies the room's existing woodwork.

Trading out oatmeal-colored carpets for beautiful wood floors added instant impact to the main living area and stairs.

Muted terra cotta and taupe give warmth to the walls and enhance the entrance.
A deeper spice tone on the entry door pulls from the new slate tile floor, to give subtle focus. Reselected ceiling light and floor registers complete the update.
